The fan is very nicely styled. We liked the polished brass as it fits in with our other fans. The one thing I have noticed about flush mount fans is they are so closed to the ceiling that they have a hard time pushing the air down, in that there is not much air above the blades to move. Apparently, it’s a physics thing. The highest speed could be faster. The installation instructions I would rate a C-. The hardest part was attaching the light kit. There is not much room for all the wires and motor controls to go. Trying to hold all the “guts” in place while I tried to put these small machine screws in was impossible for one person. I had to have another set of thinner fingers screw in the machine screws while I pushed and held the light kit in place. Plus, there is no instructions about which way it should attach. There is a notch in the light kit to account for the forward/reverse switch on the fan that has to be lined up or the kit will not go on. Also, the fan speed control unit was supposed to be sticky taped up inside the fan. It came unstuck and was dangling down, and kept causing difficulties in trying to attach the light kit. Westinghouse should have done a much better job of keeping the fan’s electronics in place than a flimsy paper donut saying “don’t remove this. High voltage electronics are in this unit”. The previous fan that was being replaced by this Westinghouse had a thicker plastic donut that had set screws to the housing that kept everything in place.Seriously, mounting the fan took about 25 minutes, the light kit by itself took almost 45 minutes.

I have 4 of these style fans now purchased over the past couple of years. Two are the incandescent version and I have two of this exact model with LEDs.All of the units I have work really well and seem to be of good quality. They move a lot of air and when installed properly do not make noise.Installation is relatively easy and the instructions are step-by-step and easy to follow.A couple of reccomendations….1. It’s easier with a helper to hand you things like screws or a piece of electrical tape2. On the wires that connect the fan to the house power there are small labels to identify the hot and neutral wires. Make sure those labels are secured in the ceiling mount and not hanging down where they can reach the fan housing. Based on my experience if you do not do this your brand new fan will make a light ‘tick tick tick’ noise. Thankfully to fix it post install you don’t need to uninstall the entire fan. You just remove a couple globes so you can get to the fan blade screws and then remove all the fan blades. Then lower the decorative housing cover and you can get to the wires and tuck the labels in the mount and out of the way.

I like that it hugs my ceiling, is balanced, and quiet. If you are looking for a lot of light, this is the one, four lights are a bit bright. I got two for my family room.

I have had this fan for awhile now in my new house. It is very loud. Its in my kitchen. If it was in my bedroom it would be sent back!! Spend the extra couple bucks and buy a HUNTER FAN much better quality moter!! I never hear my hunter run in my livingroom!!

I recently bought a house and don’t have a ton of money to throw around buying top of the line fan fixtures. I cannot recommend this fan fixture enough. Hands-down you get the best bang for your buck. It looks nice and operates very well.I installed it myself. The directions that came with it were very clear and concise. I was able to install it without having any wiggle from the fan when I was done. (I was quite proud of myself, I’ve never installed a fan or light fixture before!).
