The Fan itself works great and functions as expected. The only issue I had was teh Color was a lot lighter that the photo shown. It’s OK, just wish it was a little darker.

I purchased this fan for our master bedroom, which has about a 12 foot ceiling. I wanted something without a remote control because I have multiple wall switches and prefer to control the light and fan that way. The unit weighs about as much as I expected, though unlike most other ceiling fans I’ve purchased over the years, this fan comes with one-sided blades. The blades are also thicker than the other fans I have, though they’re sturdy – I accidentally dropped one from 12′ off the ground onto a hardwood floor, and there were no cracks or damage. It came with an installation bracket, as expected, but the ground wire attached to it is too short. I would recommend replacing it with a longer ground wire before installing the unit. The canopy cover is on the deeper side which means the fitting isn’t as tight, but on the down side it makes wiring harder because it obstructs your view. (I was working mostly overhead due to the height of the ceiling.) Speaking of wiring, the instructions tell you to leave 8″ of wiring after you trim it to size, but I would recommend 10″ instead. The extra length was helpful to have when doing the wiring. The canopy cover has two small screws to keep it in place. These screws are tiny and are difficult to manipulate, and as I discovered the hard way, if you drop one while trying to get it screwed in, it will fall into the fan assembly. Installing the fan blades was a colossal pain because they are heavier than usual and will cause the fan assembly to tilt significantly when the weight is out of balance (i.e. you only have one blade installed). The design of the attachment also forces you to point the blade away from you when installing, because the lip of the blade arm is designed in such a way that you can’t see what you’re doing if you try to install it while it’s facing you. This makes it harder to manage the fan blade and the screws. The final blade is very difficult to install because the fit between the other blades is very precise, and it’s hard to get it seated correctly. Having a second person to help during this stage will make a big difference. The fan comes with three LED bulbs, standard shape, but they’re only seven watts and are about 50% the size of a regular bulb. They cast an OK amount of light but a larger bulb would be better. I think there is enough room in the globe to fit three standard size bulbs but I haven’t tried it yet. The globe is frosted glass…I’m not a huge fan of the pattern but it’s OK. The light kit was really easy to attach. The fan is designed in a way that you thread both pull chains down through the bottom of the glass globe. That design is OK, but there is a clip that screws on below the globe, before the cap, and the pull chain tends to get caught and tangled in that clip as you’re screwing it in. I got around that for the most part by holding the pull chain against the globe with my thumb while I was screwing the clip on. Putting the globe on was a big enough pain that I don’t want to have to take it off again, but I think I can reach over it to get to the bulbs and remove/replace them later on without having to take the globe off. The fan itself is relatively quiet, though it wobbles at high speed. I need to see whether I just need to reorient the fan a bit in its mounting or whether it’s a larger balance issue. It took me about two hours to install, in total.

took about an hour to install. could have been faster but I like to take my time with electrical projects

The fan blades are completely different color than advertised and they are not reversible the other side is painted a grayish brown. There was no remote control. The glass has a paint splatter look not marbled like I thought. The fan does work great and it is quiet just wish the blades were darker wish I read the reviews before purchasing my old fan sounded like fireworks and started raining down fire so I had to find a replacement quickly.

Had to buy a balanced kit…

Works great but blade color is medium oak unlike the picture in the description. The blades are also only one sided so there is no flipping them over to another color. The pictured item is a discontinued version of the current fan. I had to call Hunter Fan directly to figure our what is going on with this.
