The fan arrived promptly in the original manufacturers box with no secondary packaging. I had the fan installed for me. It was a replacement so the installation was painless. 20 years ago I could have done it myself easily. The fan appearance is more contemporary then my previous unit and I’m adjusting to that. The only thing I would have preferred is a lighter wood to match my birth and oak. But I wanted Alexa control. Not easy to find yet and when you do, little choice. The Fan was perfectly balanced. No adjustments required. It is also perfectly quiet. Even at the highest speed, all you hear is the air. My first fan ran for 10 years nonstop. This will probably be turned on and off more often just because it is easy. The little remote and holder are nice but the holder is pulled out of the attachment very easily so keep it away from traffic and pets. The installation was the easy part, and not just because I didn’t have to do it. It took me two days to get “Simple Connect” on my phone to work. First it wouldn’t read the bar code. Turns out that it preferred to be farther away and not fill the scan area. Hunter could have told us that in the app. I tried it again a couple of days later and figured it out. Then it couldn’t find the fan. The instructions said to turn the fan wall switch off. Didn’t say anything about the light. Once you figure out that you have to turn the both off and both back on, then you wait for it to be recognized by your wifi router. After about 10 times, it finally connected. Now you have to connect to your account. I know that I signed in at one point but don’t remember what I used. What I thought I used was wrong, and I didn’t write it down of course. I signed in with Facebook, but that doesn’t let you change the password so it’s useless to do that. I had to request a password reset via my e-mail account. That finally let me in but I needed to go to the website to complete that process. Then you have to set up Alexa. They advertise it’s compatibility but don’t tell you a thing about doing that. So first I had to find the skill and install that. Then I had to sign in using my Hunter account. That’s when the above got really swarthy. After you get that straightened out you have to search for the device. Once it’s found you can start to control it. I had renamed it from their unpronounceable name to “fan” and selected the only option, Room 1. That was done in the “Simple”connect program which wasn’t. So I could say fan on and fan off. No instructions about how to change speed. I still have that to figure out. The light can be turned on and off by “Light On” or Light Off. Dimming hasn’t worked for me yet. They give you some possible settings for the light. I’ve got to work on that. For all their Hype about Alexa, you’d think they’d give you a hint or two and allow you to change light to fan light or something else meaningful. What if I had another light? They hired a contractor (lowest bidder) and threw it together. But it does work. It will get better in time. The world’s going that way. I’d rather they used z-wave or zigbee and be compatible with wink or the plethora of other compatible hubs. Setup would have been easier. IFTTT supports other Hunter products (shades) but no fans. It’s not a perfect world.Bottom line is, it works, it’s attractive, it’s quiet but they can do much better with the automation side.

Does not work with HomeKit 5.0. You must switch to 2.5 band to be able to use it. It’s just painful.

Easy to install and set up. Great look and moves a lot of air.

I read a few older reviews complaining about being able to connect and use with Echo devices. Outside of the look this was a requirement so I was apprehensive. In my case the Hunter app walked me through adding the fan to the Alexa app.I wasn’t happy that I had to spend an hour trying to balance the fan and ended up having to add weights to 2 of the 3 blades. Now that that’s done I am happy with the look and performance of the fan.

Elegant fan. Really happy with the design and visual appeal of the fan. HomeKit integration is very good, and opens up a large range of options. Can dim the light with any HomeKit app or with Siri. Fan speed can be set in multiples of 25%. Can also do things like enable/disable the beeps, change the fan direction, etc. I have purchased a Philips Hue Smart Dimmer Switch with Remote and use the four buttons on it to control the fan on/off and light on/off. Works great and allows me to have a wall mounted switch to use the fan/light in a traditional way and have full remote capabilities with HomeKit.My only two complaints are that the motor is not as quiet as other Hunter fans I’ve owned, and the Hunter iOS app is pretty terrible. Since I use the Apple Home app for my HomeKit items, I don’t use the Hunter app at all. If you’re willing to pay the extra money for this fan, I think you will be very happy with it.

I’m not certain why there are still negative reviews about the Hunter HomeKit fans… I now own four of these fans around my house and other than the occasional power cycle (maybe once every three months), these are one of the most rock-solid HomeKit devices that I own.I’ve had one of these for over a year with no issues, one of the Symphony fans and two other Signal fans recently installed. I have never once had any issue with their app in setting it up and with the HomeKit integration. My biggest advice to you as a prospective buyer is to read the instructions carefully if you are not familiar with HomeKit pairing. To start the process, download the Hunter app and get the fan set up using the app.It should then prompt you to pair it with HomeKit if you would like and to name the devices, simple as that! All in all, the tech features and the quiet, powerful operation of this fan at a reasonable price is definitely a winner in my book!

This is the third fan that I have installed with this model. I love the full control app that you can get when registering the fan. We set it to go on at 9 PM and off at 5 AM to match our electrical companies off peak hours. I would have given it 5 starts if the app was easier to set up with Alexa. It took me several tries and a few days to get it working correctly. Quiet motor that except for the “beep” when it turns off and on you wouldn’t know it was running. Hunter, improve the app.!! I just order 2 more Sympathy Hunter fans because they make a great product.

As a fan, it looks great and works perfectly. It looks fine and moves a LOT of air. After over half a year, the motor still runs nears silent. However, the “smart” features don’t work: I’ve installed and reinstalled two fans several times, and the fan loses the network after a day or two. Once lost, it never reconnects. I have several smart home devices, and the two Hunter fans are the only ones that don’t work. It’s a five-star dumb fan–the two star rating is because you pay extra for “smart.”
