The good:The light is bright and easily adjustable for brightness and warmthThe fan is silent and strong and adjustableInstall was simple as can beThe remote is RF not IR so you don’t have to aim itGreat value for the moneyThe bad:EVERYTHING ABOUT THE REMOTE AND CONTROLING IT IS AWFULThe screws to mount the remote are rounded and needed to be flad head so the remote won’t go in it’s holster. The power button in the top corner turns the unit off but not back on, you have to turn on the light and select a fan speed each time! The light on button is BURRIED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE REMOTE so it’s hard to walk in and just press on in a dark room. You can’t use your wall switch because it doesn’t remember anything and it takes a few seconds to boot up.You can’t pair 2 remotes at the same time so you can’t leave one by the door and 1 by the bed.You have to remember your favorite fan speed because there is no fan on button only 6 speed buttons and off.Fan direction is a toggle with no indication of direction, why not put have a summer and winter button? They dont provide the screws to mount to the electrical box.The screws to connect the fan to the mount are metric and were missing one and standard electrical screws in America don’t fit.Fan is off-balance but because it’s clear plastic I can’t add balancing weightsOverall, it installed, it works and in 6 months to a year I will be sick and tired of the annoying controlls I will likely yank this down, throw it out and replace it with a less frustrating fan. Unfortunately, nearly every fan of similar style use the same remote and therefore the same controller.

This is a pretty good LED Fan/Light, once you have dealt with installation and some remote frustrations.Assembly is confusing because there are only two WHITE, unmarked wires coming out of the control box. This is unconventional and the instructions do not reflect this at all. It makes one concerned about the possibility of connecting them to the main power in a reverse-polarity situation. This is somewhat mitigated by the light having no metal parts reachable once installed. The two wires connected to a positive and neutral point without issue and the light works just fine. (There is no ground wire in the system)Once that is figured out, mounting to an existing light box seems somewhat loose and can make you concerned about stability and security, but that also did not come to a point of worry.Once assembled, the instructions for the remote (There are two different models in the instructions) was a little frustrating, but after fiddling for a few minutes, I was able to discern the proper buttons to push for both the light and the fan operationsThe light is adjustable for both brightness intensity and color temperature. If turned off by the remote, it maintains last setting memory and will light up at the same temperature and brightness from the remote. If a light switch on the wall is used, the light loses memory and will turn on at maximum daylight temperature and brightness. The fan is reversible via the remote which is great for using during the winter when wanting to bring warm air down from the ceiling.Overall, I am happy with the light and fan, once I overcame the annoyances of installation and remote setup. The fan/light is an aesthetic addition to my finished basement office and video studio. It gets FOUR STARS from me, along with my honest recommendation if you don’t mind the installation annoyances…or have an electrician install it for you. I DO feel the price is a bit high, but so are they all! Cheers!*If you found my review helpful to you, PLEASE let Amazon know by clicking the “HELPFUL” button below!

So I absolutely hate ceiling fans with the wooden blades that want to chop your head off. Bought this light because I wanted the ceiling fan to disappear in the ceiling. Installation of this was pretty tricky, directions were not clear and the grounding wire was confusing the way it was set up. We finally got it installed but my hubby hated it from the start and hated even more when it was hard to install. He kept calling it the UFO. When we got it working the default light is super bright and very artificial in color, he hated it even more. Once I changed to color and dimmed the light it gave a much nicer feel. But for some reason it always goes back to the original color and brightness. The remote has these symbols on them that make no sense, but once you get the hang of it all is good. He now likes the light. The fan makes no noise at all which I love, it also does not wobble.

My dining room is kind of a dead zone when it comes to air and I spend a lot of time working at the dining table. The ceiling isn’t very high (8ft), so I needed a ceiling fan/light combo that wouldn’t overpower the space but would provide some air movement because I was really tired of having to pull out a chair and put a fan on it. The Chanfok came yesterday and I put it up today by myself (57yrs old,5’3″). It was a lot easier than the little chandelier I had installed when we moved in (I have installed several ceiling fans and lights). It is light weight. I attached the cross mounting thing (probably not the technical term) to the lightbox but did not screw it into the ceiling. It shakes just a smidge on the lowest speed and none on the highest – but this is on me, not the product. Now I can sit at my dining table and type and do research without a noisy fan – and this is very quiet. I also can’t wait for the next gathering of friends to show this off. It is a really nice look. When other fans in the house fail, I’ll be looking for more like this. The wiring is now labelled (except for one small white wire with a cap) and there is a ground wire. It looks like the company has been paying attention to the questions and concerns – that is pretty impressive.
