We tried a different brand…hummed while running. This fan is quiet, good looking, and the remote is great, overall a 10. We bought 2 and are very happy with each one. Installing is not hard, just take your time and read instructions. Very happy with this make / model, rec it!

I enjoy how the late can be 3 different kinds: daylight, soft white, and something else and that each of these can also be dimmed or brightened. I was a little concerned the light may not be bright enough to replace a large chandelier but it was even brighter than the chandelier.I was so surprised to see how fast it goes. I thought, “Wow, these new fans are way better than the old ones.”Now for a few of downsides to the process: the instructions left out a couple of points that would have saved me some time and effort like 1) it didn’t say to include the “xing ring” in the part when it described putting the wires through the rod. I ended up having to bring the whole thing down, taking apart the wires, to get the “xing ring” on. 2) It didn’t say that I had to screw on the LED part so I ended up doing it on the ladder which was a little difficult. It makes a slight noise at top speed and since this will be used in a meditation room, that’s important. I may have installed it wrong so it has a slight wobble that I haven’t corrected, yet. Once I do, I hope the sound goes away. And, finally, I’m still working on fitting the remote receiver into the cover that covers that, the bracket, and the wires. I will have to save that for another day.The quality of the fan/light, however, makes up for these small issues.**update: it’s been a couple of weeks or so and I’m still trying to figure out how to make the soft scraping sound go away.**update: I got the sound to go away. The soft scraping noise was from some tape that I put on there to make a clicking noise go away. Once I removed the tape, however, there is no clicking noise either… Hopefully it lasts this way.

These are superb fans for $200. I installed 3 on my patio in about 2 hours. No blades required balancing weights, they were near perfect out of the box. Only one fan wobbled a bit on speed 6, the highest speed, and it was the kind of minor movement you’d expect at that speed.PROS: The fans are well designed, well made, move a lot of air. They are very quiet. They look slick, modern, but slightly understated. DC motors in ceiling fans are a huge advantage. It makes the fan smaller and lighter — much easier to install. They use far less electricity. They offer more speeds, timers — more overall flexibility. The light is bright, has options for 3 colors. The light can be used independently from the fan.CONS: Only one. The instructions…..oh dear god. Entire steps are skipped—how to attach the light kit, how to attach the power wires from the house, the correct order of steps to best get the job done quickly. I say all this, but if you have journeyman DYI skills, you’ll easily figure it out. It’s as if nobody checked the instructions in any way. Here’s my instructions.1) Assemble the light and cover to the fan. There’s no instructions, but it’s 2 sets of 3 screws, the plastic lid twists on. Easy.2) Assemble the chosen down rod, rings and caps in the correct order and orientation (as shown in their diagram). Exactly—look at the diagram closely, make sure everything, including the small ring, is oriented right!!3) Screw in all the blades (you’ll need a big table, or floor). You then have a finished fan ready to mount.4) Install the mounts on the ceiling, connect the power wires (turn power off!), matching ground to ground, white to white, black to black. You’ll need a small screwdriver to do this.5) Lift the fan up to the cradle, making sure it’s snuggly in its cup.6) Orientate the black box in a way that it can easily slide into the area above the mount, taking a look at how you can slide the box in after you attach all the plugs. It’ll make sense when you do it, just go slowly.7) Slide the top cup cover the mount and tighten the small ring (the ring you didn’t forget to put on the pole between the cups in the very beginning 🙂 ).8) Turn power on, the light should automatically turn on. Check fan at speed 4. That’s fast enough to see if the blades are balanced and all is well. Done.Final thoughts. I actually sought-out this brand, hoping they made an outside fan. I’ve had 2 Reiga fans going strong for 2 yrs inside, we love them. Reiga uses the same motor, RC unit and remote on 90% of their models. Why? They are superb. It is unusual in my experience to not have any wobbly fan blades in 3 fans, but I had none. A weight kit is included if you do have an issue, and it has decent instructions!

The installation of this ceiling fan was a bit of a challenge, as the instructions were not very clear and had some gaps. On top of that, even on the lowest setting, there is a rattling noise that can be heard from across the room. Overall, I would give this fan 3 stars as it does seem to be functioning as expected, but the installation process and noise are definitely drawbacks.
