I wanted a sleek modern fan with a light and with a control that fit into an electrical box with a Decora style cover. I dislike keeping track of remotes. This model, the Monte Carlo 3CLYR52RZWD-V1, was the only fan I found that met all of my requirements. It has a remote that optionally mounts in an electrical switch box. The fan comes with two Leviton Decora-style switch cover plates (white and beige). However, in my case I wanted to mount the remote in one slot of an existing double-gang box. It fit exactly, using a double-gang Decora plate for the cover. The fan installation is very well-designed, with clear, unamibguous, nicely-illustrated instructions, and can be accomplished solo. The fan looks good, the motor is inaudible at all speeds (air flow can be heard at the two higher speeds). The light is very bright and widely dispersed at highest illumination. Although dimmable, it is still quite bright at the lowest illumination, which I found disappointing. Because the remote is powered only by a 12-volt battery, eventually it will be necessary to replace that battery. It’s an easy task that doesn’t even require removing the switch plate cover. Oddly, the light control button on the remote has two switches behind it, one above the other. The upper switch controls the light on/off and dimming; the lower switch does nothing but click.

I purchased the 42″ white fan for my office at home. It arrived on time and it was well packaged, no missing pieces. You will receive three pieces that you use to decide on having it controlled by remote control or from a wall plate (white and cream colors provided) I liked the remote control better. The designed is minimalist and modern, which matches everything else in my home. The light is LED dimmable, I believe in the 2700K temperature range. When you turn the light off it remembers the last intensity you used. The fan works well and it does not produce mechanical noise, however in the max setting it produces wind noise, which does not bother me because I always use the fans in the min setting. I had it installed by an electrician, who knew what he was doing, he did not read the instructions because he said it was a very easy (for him) and standard installation. It took him 30 mins from the time he came home until the time he left. I have already ordered the 52″ version to replace the one in my bedroom.

Very quiet, smooth install. Light is like a mini sun.

Got it today. Put it up. Anyone who thought this is a hard installation , must be their first fan. The only one thing tag would be nice is if it had the option of an independent, hand held remote. Would make whirring a lot easier. Most new houses a pre wired for both lights and fan. Ya just have to eliminate one switch. No big deal. I depend on honest reviews when I but anything. So I’ll review it again in 3 months

The fan itself seems well made. Looks good and works well. The installation instruction are sketchy and hard to follow. Be careful on step #8. The hook to hang the motor is very helpful but after that it’s hard to get the screws to all line up with the slots in the flange on the motor. Also only 3 holes on the housing lined up properly with the corresponding holes for the screws . This fan is kind of pricey and doesn’t come with both a hand held and wall control remote per Amazon’s item description so if your remote fails you’ll be out of luck. I don’t think I would have purchased it if I was aware of that.

Decent air movement in big can armor. Oddly mismatched wall control levers: dimmer light brightens when pushed up, but fan speed is lowest at the top.

A great fan but I wish that the housing was smaller in diameter. Just a slight hum like all AC fan motors.

Looks nice, fairly quiet, but doesn’t have a very high speed and doesn’t throw off much air.
