The main difficulty is the steps to install even though easy. So I would try this. Turn off power, remove old fixture, install hanging bracket it is wider than older fans may need a 4’ plate, insert black remote control box first, assemble fan shorter down rod is already put together and don’t install light (white control box) or lights till last, slide fan into bracket/ball connection then wire connections to ceiling outlet and fan. Use wire nuts and tape! Fit collar to enclose wires using the loosened screws on collar. Then install lights. They have magnets on the bottom. Plug in white control box to lights and wire. The diagram for wiring at top is good just nothing for the lights. Put on shade screen. The lights are really bright even the lowest setting. I may add a dimmer. Quiet fan remote works great.

Light was placed in a smaller room, although it is larger than it appears in the photo. Unless it is turned on, you would never know it is a fan by looking at it. Love that the remote makes it so simple to choose the pace and light brightness. However, the speed at 1 was actually ideal for the space. The quietness was the biggest surprise.

I really like this retractable fan. I wanted a new look because my older ceiling fan stopped working. Since I have lower ceiling, I gained a couple of inches in head clearance. It modernized my decor while adding the function of combining a light with a fan. I’ve received compliments on it.

The light is as described. There were a few factory mistakes. Magnets not attached to LED strip, instructions incomplete and design flaws with the mounting bracket. If you are a DIY person there should be no problems. I would reccommend using a professional installer for most people

The instructions were horrible, definitely a two man job, the bottom globe part is plastic. Inside where the light controller is, it’s supposed to hook on magnets but there were wires in the way, so we had to finagle zip ties to get it to stay up, or it will just hang there and you can see it when bottom part of globe is on. It looks nice, just a pain in the butt to install. The actual remote control is annoying as well, as there are three different light settings, but you have to turn the lights on and off to get to the color of lights you want. We leave it on the “warm” color, the other two settings are extremely bright.
