I really like this fan – it’s pretty basic, but it looks good and works good, and the build seems solid. The two issues I have with it are – it wobbles a bit at high speed, so I can only use low and medium speed. I think it’s possible that the junction box that I mounted it to is not mounted solidly enough to the joist. But once I finished installing the fan, I didn’t feel like taking the entire thing down to replace the junction box. Their troubleshooting section in the manual says in regards to wobbling – “if a balancing kit is included, check the instructions with the kit”, but no balancing kit is included with this fan, which you might think they’d know. That’s not very helpful. The other issue is a lack of a remote. I knew that when I purchased it, but other similarly priced fans include the remote. Actually, I wouldn’t even care so much about the remote if I could dim the light using a pull switch – that’s really all I care about doing, but that’s only possible with the remote. I went and purchased the remote separately (almost an extra $40). It’s the same brand and it says in the product PDF on their website that the remote I purchased is the only one that goes with this fan, but I have yet to get the remote to work. I know with fan remotes, there needs to be a receiver in the fan and I have to assume there is one since it lists a specific remote that it works with, and I don’t see anywhere to attach a receiver, but I don’t know how to verify that it actually is included. If the receiver needs to be purchased separately then I’m going to be pretty annoyed since it mentioned nothing about this when I purchased the fan or the remote.Either way, there are no instructions included in the fan regarding getting their remote to work, and the remote only includes very basic generic instructions since it works with several other Minka fans. So I’ve been unable to figure it out. It’s not yet been possible to determine if there is an issue with the fan, the remote, or if there is simply no receiver in the fan to begin with. I’m going to call their customer support soon to see if they can help.

We installed this fan in our master bedroom with vaulted ceiling using a ~24″ down rod. This fan is great… It’s modern and simple enough to blend into the background. The operation is smooth and totally quiet. And the light is decent. I’m buying another one for my daughters room.

This is an awesome fan. We moved into a house that looked like it was trapped in the 90s. I replaced all the old ugly gold fans with these. Totally silent. Even the low speed moves air nicely. No rocking. Easy to install. The led lamp is nice. Bright enough.I bought this with the wall remote and receiver. This fan does not have a receive built in. You need one.Not much else to say. Far better quality than most big store brands. Minka Aire is worth it.

Gives the room a nice look. Dimming light just right for low lighting desire but not bright if high lighting is required. Operates smoothly.

Comparatively easy to install. Really quiet and was balanced from the outset. I loved it SO MUCH, I bought another for your vacation home.

Fan was packaged well and easy to assemble. Install was straight forward and the fan operates without noise or wobble. The supplemental remote I purchased was easy to program and works great.

  8. With Grace

The fan seems nice and well packaged. No assembly instructions were included and the installation instructions are pretty difficult to understand. I ordered a collection from Minka Lavery so the lights in my house would all match and the instructions for each light were VERY poor. If I wasn’t familiar with putting new lights in, I don’t think I would have been able to install any of them. Once they are installed though, they look nice and are functional, but nothing overly special.
