Great product. The app could use some improvement. I like the design. As you can see, the old fan I had was the typical $59 home depot special. I removed the $59 fans. They had a proprietary bracket, as do the new ones, so I had to take off the bracket and install the new one. The old one had the bracket that housed the wireless receiver for the old remote control feature. The new bracket is Hunter’s triangular bracket.. Not a big deal.If you’ve replaced a fan before, this is a piece of cake. The most time consuming process is unpacking the fan and installing the blades, but that’s the case with any fan. On the living room, the fan is completely silent. In the bedroom, there is a slight clicking noise, which I attribute to a slight vibration, but it’s a 2 of 10 in annoyance scale, so I can tolerate it and it’s only when on the very lowest setting.Wish these fans came with a cap plate so if people don’t want to install the light, it can be capped. But that is not an option. The app is atrocious, as is the case with most the fan apps. Hopefully Hunter updates it. I’ve had the fans 3 months and there’s only been one app update and it didn’t seem to have any cosmetic updates.I added the fans to Alexa, so it’s a non-issue.I love the look. It’s hard to find a grey fan to match the grey everything else. So I am pleased with the value.

Pros:-Fairly easy install once you figure out what is what.-Fan is very stylish and somewhat quiet(see explanation below of “somewhat quiet”).-Not too heavy.Cons:-Fan at certain speeds, hums. NOT sure if it my ceiling or not, but still hums and speed 2 and above.-Directions are terrrrible. You will see why.-Bracket shipped to hold the fan is a different hole pattern than a standard light electrical box. I had to add a bracket to accommodate the difference(strong steel plate).-The LED is not an LED strip. These come with LED bulbs, which is good as you can change them out if they go bad, but not typical and not space saving. Fan would look sleeker with a smaller glass globe cover. Some ending notes: You may ask yourself “How do these blades go in?”. Well, on the blade is a sticker that says “This side up”. Also, have someone with you to hold the blades as the screws are somewhat difficult to find both holes and then tighten them. IMPORTANT: Don’t put the light area on until you put the blades on!!!!Have fun! If you need help, dial 411 : )~

I rarely write reviews anymore so pay attention when I do.I’ve purchased two of these fans the past few weeks. The first install went smoothly in the bedroom. Easy to install and follow instructions and easy to wire and I used only HomeKit to connect to my network – not the Hunter app.I did have someone to help with the first install but not the second install.I was replacing two 20 year old+ fans with two switch converting to a single wall switch controlling the power. I haven’t installed a fan before so it took a few hours to take down the old one and install the new one for both installs. The second fan was not so easy as you’ll see below and the wiring was a slightly different.Caveat – if you purchase more than one of these when you setup Alexa/HomeKit etc. you must turn off other fans in your house. This is mentioned in the instructions somewhere and online. This was something that I missed and took me a while to figure out why it was not connecting to the HomeKit.The second issue is the second fan light did not turn on at all. I went back and forth with wiring initially ensuring I had the correct wiring which I did. Then I went with Hunter via email to resolve the issue which took roughly two weeks in total. First we replaced the light kit -not the issue- then we replaced the entire fan through hunter and I reinstalled everything again. No charge at all from Hunter and I had to return the defective fan entirely free of charge. After the full replacement everything worked fine until they both were no longer seen on the network this week.I read other reviews and decided to forced them on the 2.4 gz network today by adjusting a configuration in my router. Only Time will tell if these stay online and working. It’s a good looking fan with good features at this price point however there are definitely some reliability concerns.Edit 9/5/2022It’s been about a week. The fans are no longer on the network.I’ve setup IP address reservations and verified I’m using compatible WiFi encryption however they were dropped again after 24 hours.I’m continuing to try additional options to figure out why they are dropped.Edit 9/9/2022So it’s been another week. I downloaded the Hunter simple connect app, perused the horrible UI and somehow the firmware automatically updated to version 1.10.41 and this version seems stable and consistently connected to my home network. I did remove the IP reservation config but kept the setting to force them on the 2.4 ghz network.I’m bumping up one star for nowHopefully this will be the last update.

The humming noise is something you have to get used to. Not ideal for light sleepers. Other than that, works well with homekit, with seldom minor glitches.
