Fan looks and work great. Not too difficult to install. Clear institutions.Installing the blades after the body is up was a bit tricky. Insert the blade, align the holes, get the screw, re-align the holes, grab the screw driver, hold the blade. Don’t fall off the ladder. realign the holes, hunt for the hole while turning the screw….. After an hour of holding the parts and drill over your head, the 6 blades should be installed.. Oh Damn! one is upside down. Do I swap the plate or remount the blade…?The real problem comes after. About every 40 minutes some thing. makes a “crackling” sound. The wooden blades, the motor, the ceiling mount… something is making a clicking noise, Almost like wood in an old house settling in. Balance and operation is perfect. Nothing loose on the motor or blades that I can see. Just some crackling and creaking ever 40 minutes.Anyone have an Idea what could cause this?Added Note, I swapped the fan for another one to try and eliminate the crackling sounds. I took off 2 blades to get above it and take it out of the hanger. When the new motor was ready, I installed the first 4 blades on the work table. MUCH EASIER than working above your head. I also added rubber strips between the wood and the motor to try and dampen the crackling sound.I tightened every screw to a torque setting.IT DID NOT HELP. The new blades still crackle. I have no idea why.

This is a very nice fan. It is quiet and moves a lot of air. It has 6 speeds, but the bottom 3 are all I need or use. We chose to skip the Amazon installation service, and found a local electrician who did a good job and charged less. I have installed many fans myself, but I’m getting older and it is a 12 foot ceiling, so I paid for it instead of hurting my feet standing on the ladder. The fan and the light turned on by themselves for the first few nights, so I changed the code in the wall switch. There was no need to change anything in the fan itself. That was interesting, and good. After changing the code, it all worked well and hasn’t been a problem since.I downloaded the Emerson app for my phone, but apparently this fan won’t work with it. Not a big deal, but it would have been nice. I couldn’t find any documentation about what fans do work with the app.The light is not that great. It has a daylight white color that it too cool. I prefer a warmer white light. I sent an email asking the manufacturer about the bulbs. The lighting unit was installed as a single entity, but I suspect there are common sized LED bulbs inside. I never go a response. So, I may have to get up on the ladder anyway, and take it apart to see what kind of LED bulbs are in the unit. Then I’d need to buy bulbs, then get up again to change them. Documentation would have been nice, but it isn’t in the installation guide that came with it, nor could I find it on their web site. One thing to caution prospective buyers is that the price jumped a lot while it was in my cart. I waited a day, and it came down again, so be careful, or you will pay too much.

This fan is in a great room and I chose this particular fan with it’s 60 inch diameter blade span. Wasn’t too concerned with wind speed but with CFM. I think the blades could of been a bit wider overall to move more air, the taper is fine though. The control is a bit finicky. The Opal matte light cover is “plastic” Not glass as stated in the description, kinda cheep looking. Typical Chinese made fan. I had purchased a DC motor fan from Home Depot and returned it for this fan and I wonder if this one is worth the $300 more. It does look very nice overall when it’s not rotating, as in the images. Blades are in fact real wood and the medallions make it look appealing. Oil rubbed bronze finish is very nice. The LED light seems a bit cool for the 3000k temp rating it received, maybe 2800k would of been nicer. BTW, there was not an owners manual enclosed. Overall somewhat disappointing being it is supposed to be a higher end Emerson fan. I do have about two months to decide if it stays or goes.

Made the first purchase of this fan in September of 2019. Installation was done by a professional electrician. The fan worked most of the time while the remote never worked. Called Emerson for product support and got none. Returned the original unit for an exchange. The second unit arrived a month later. Had to pay double for the electrician to come back out, take down old unit and install the new one. Same problem. Since we were now well over $1,000 into this mess, we kept it up and just left it on for the past year. Now, a year later, the fan stops working completely. Remote has never worked since day 1. Wish I would not have pulled that trigger, but it’s a big fan and fills a big space. Now, it’s a dust collector pending yet another electrician visit and new ceiling fan purchase. Tried to obtain product support for this item now before giving up a brief 18 months after purchase and cannot find anyone capable of providing assistance as to what this may be.Buyer be ware.

I eventually ended up getting 6 Emerson fans for my newly built home and am so happy that I did. They are so quiet, move an enormous volume of air, and the wall controls beat remotes that you can lose hands down for me.
