So, let’s just admit they saved money by using Google Translate for the installation manual & packaging instead of hiring a native English speaker to translate. Fortunately, there are videos on You Tube to decipher the installation instructions. What we must give credit to Reiga for, is bringing these DC Motor (30% of the juice of AC fans) fans, with great designs, and fantastic build quality to market at half the price of Minka Aire. I have installed about a zillion ceiling fans in my 60 years. Including a 50 lb antique Emerson from the 1920’s. Installing a ceiling fan has basically been unchanged since the 1920’s. But Reiga has rethought the process from the ground up, and it works. For example, instead of giving you a grab bag of screws and a chart to figure out where they go, these fans have the screws in place. You simply take them out and put them back in. Brilliant! So, I bought the black/gold because I wanted the App & Alexa compatibility. And you need to know: Smart Home stuff is NOT for dumb home people. But pairing it with the Smart Life App was pretty easy, but you have to translate “blinks” to “beeps”. And then adding the Alexa Smart Life skill was breathtakingly easy. Long story short, forgive the Chinglish. These fans are well built, aesthetically pleasing (the gold is NOT tacky, it’s muted, somewhere between shiny brass and gold. And you could paint it over if you want.) My only hitch: I had it all hooked up, the light was working but not the fan. I re-paired the remote with the fan (instructions said hold down 6hr button, but I only had 8 hr button, so did that) and it came to life. Proud of these kids, truly the next generation in energy efficient cooling.Helpful Hints:Light Kit Finish: I bought a 3rd one for the bathroom. Gold wasn’t the right finish, but for now, they only sell the black and gold version with Smart Life and Alexa features. Solution was fine grain sandpaper (800 or higher) to remove the gold finish from the light kit, and chrome polish for shine. The metal is good quality. You can see my hacked “black and silver” version in the 2nd pic. Also, to remove the Reiga label you just need to cut the double sided tape. Then use WD40 to rid of the tape & glue residue.Pairing the Remote: On my first fan, the remote would control the light, but not the fan motor. Following the instructions to pair the remote fixed this. The other 2 fans did not have this problem, the remotes worked perfectly out of the box.Adding to Smart LIfe: I can see why they are starting with just model. This can be finicky. I am a smart home addict so I powered thru it, here are my hints. #1 Once you get it added to Smart Life you are home free. The integration with Alexa is flawless. That said… Fan #1 I just followed the steps and it all worked. Fan #2 I tried over an over and no luck. So I turned off the 5ghz radio on my wireless. Still did not work. After that, I cut power to the fan (in my case, they aren’t switched so this meant keeping the ladder up and removing one of the power lines from the harness and then putting it back.) After that, paired immediately. Fan #3, did not pair initially either. So, turned off 5ghz, reset power to fan, and then started “add” process in app and it worked. I am not sure if turning off 5ghz in the router was the solution (which might be a bit advanced for some folks) or if starting the paring process right after connection to power is the fix. Someone should try just resetting the power and advise. One other thing to note – the Smart Life app will ask if the accessory you are adding is “blinking slow” or “blinking fast”. In fact, the fan does not blink, it beeps. And it beeps fast, so pick that one.

For clarification, the fan I bought is the 52″ hand-painted (wood appearance) Reiga fan with remote control, that included the color temperature adjustable/dimmable LED light fixture and a pair of AAA batteries for the remote.I love the appearance of this fan. It has the look and design of much more expensive fans at a much more affordable price, at the expense of being made with cheaper materials. My main criteria for any ceiling fan that I purchase is that it have a DC motor as those are supposed to be dead silent. After I hung this fan, which was not any more difficult than any other of the many fans that I have installed that are remote controlled, I turned on the wall switch, and the light came on immediately. As soon as I turned on the fan to test it, I heard a hum coming from the motor once it got started after doing the little DC motor dancing jig of going reverse a little, then forward, then stopping, then going forward a little more, pausing, then going faster, then speeding up to your selected speed. This was concerning to me as I have never heard hum coming from any DC fan. Ever.I turned off the wall switch and the hum immediately stopped, so I knew it was the fan that was the source of the hum. I turned the switch back on, the light came on, and after a pause, the fan started again and the hum came back. To make absolutely sure, I turned off the switch again, and again the hum stopped simultaneously.I was very disappointed as silence is the mark of a good DC fan. I have another DC fan of a different make in a different room with all of the same features as this one that has no hum at any speed, light on or not. Zero. Just the whisper of the blades through the air (it has six).I was preparing to uninstall this fan and boomerang it back to Amazon when by pure chance I turned the light off on the remote before turning off the fan. The hum all but vanished. I turned the light back on and the hum came back. Set at any brightness level, there is a very audible AC fan-like hum that comes from the fan motor when the light is on. With the light off, there is still a very faint hum, but nothing that you would notice without listening for it.I compared it to my other DC fan and light on or off, that other fan is absolutely silent. Also, interestingly enough, three blades make more wind noise than six. Granted, this Reiga fan can blow lots and lots of air, way more than I’ll ever need in my bedroom to sleep under. So to wrap things up, I have decided that the tiny amount of hum left after turning off the light isn’t worth my time and trouble to dismount the fan, box it up, drop it off, and wait on another fan from Amazon or the big box store where my other fan came from. I have it installed in my bedroom to use while I sleep, so silence is crucial for that, so I can ignore the hum while the light is on and enjoy the breeze in near silence while the light is off.Would I buy it again? No. I’d try another DC fan of similar design from a different manufacturer and hope for a better motor. I’d have bought the same fan as my other one, but I like this design. That other company doesn’t make anything that looks like this.Pros:Beautiful designEasy to install (easy as any remote controlled fan)Comparatively low priceLots and lots of airflowSelectable color temperatureDimmable (read the instructions folks)Quiet when light is offCons:Cheap constructionTypical Chinesium instructionsHums like an AC fan while light and fan are both on

Nice, quality product. Fan works well, and light is brighter than expected. Light hue can be changed between bright white and soft white, and the remote has a dimmer function as well. fan has multiple speeds and reverse function. The instruction manual leaves a bit to be desired. Even if you have installed many ceiling fans in the past, this one is a bit different in terms of wiring. There are multiple youtube videos that definitely help.

Seller has been amazing. Had some issues when my dog chewed the remote that was no longer being made, and seller has been exceptional at getting my issues resolved. The fan itself pushes a ton of air, and is very quiet. Also looks great.

After spending many times more for Maverick Fans, I have purchased 3 of these Reiga fans for spare bedrooms and den. The latest wood grain look for our den is both attractive and has amazing airflow. The fan is also very quiet, I can’t hear the motor at all! If you’re somewhat handy the fan is relatively easy to install. Reiga should have online instructions, but I found a few videos on YouTube by handymen or DYI’ers. I can’t speak to longevity yet, but I’m very pleased so far.
