    This fan is AWESOME. It looks modern and sleek, and is super quiet on all but the highest setting. It is super steady, with zero wobble even on the highest setting. You can reverse the direction of the fan in the winter via the remote. The light is dimmable. It’s everything I wanted in a ceiling fan with light, and the hardware is fantastic.I read a lot of reviews that stated that it is very difficult to set up the wifi. That is ALL TRUE. I installed 4 of these fans, and with trial and error have figured out what worked for me. Hope these instructions works for your too.1. I have read online that you need an iPhone/ iPad to set it up before you can then use it on an Android device. I’m not sure if this is true, as I have an iPhone.2. Download the SimpleConnect Wifi app, and open it up.3. Make sure your phone is connected to the 2.4GHz wifi network, NOT the 5GHz wifi network.4. Make sure the wall switch powering the fan is turned on. If the fan cannot be detected by your app, open the battery cover of the remote. There is a small area where you can press to pair/ wifi reset the device. Press and hold this “button” until it flashes blue. Restart your app again, and you should be able to see the fan on your app now. Select this “SIMPLEConnect device”.5. On the next screen, select the same 2.4GHz wifi network that your phone is connected to, and click “Next”.6. This next step may take a while (mine took almost a minute). Be sure to be patient and wait for the full time when the app prompts you to.7. Once the fan is connected to the app, the next screen will display “Setup Complete”, and click on Done.8. If you have any issues setting up the fan, then flip on/off the wall switch powering the fan, wifi reset the fan by pressing the pair/ wifi reset button under the battery cover of the remote, and try again.9. After successful fan setup, the next screen should show the fan that you just set up and connected. If the fan shows up, then click on the device and follow the instructions. However, on my phone, no device ever showed up, despite me deleting and re-installing the app multiple times, and resetting the device and reconnecting it to the app, so I eventually gave up, and skipped ahead to the Apple HomeKit app.10. On the Apple Homekit app, click on “Add Accessory” and the camera opens.11. Scan the HomeKit Setup Code which is displayed on the inside of the battery cover of the remote. Mine didn’t scan properly and I had to just type the code in manually.12. Choose the fan and wait for the fan to be added. Once successful, you should see 2 accessories, the Hunter Fan, and the Hunter Light.13. Once the fan has been successfully added to Homekit go back to the SimpleConnect app. At this point, I forwarded to the final screen (from Step 9), and I still could not see any devices. I uninstalled and re-installed the SimpleConnect Wifi app, and I was then prompted to register for a Hunter Account. IMPORTANT: Even if you have a prior account with Hunter, you cannot use that account, and you will have to go through this registration to set up a separate account through the SimpleConnect Wifi app.14. It will ask you to input an email address and password. IMPORTANT: You MUST click on the link sent to your email to verify your account using the SAME iPhone that you’ve been using to set up the fan, NOT another, NOT a computer, or the verification will not go through.15. Open the SimpleConnect Wifi app, click on Home, and check to make sure that the fan has a name tile, and this name tile must NOT be outlined in RED – this means the fan is not connected.16. If the name tile does not show, HomeKit can still control the fan, but Alexa will not discover it. You may have to close and open the SimpleConnect Wifi app a couple of times, or uninstall and re-install the SimpleConnect Wifi app and if that still does not work, you may have to repeat the whole process from steps 3 through 12.17. If the name tile is outlined in RED, you may have to delete the fan from the SimpleConnect app and Homekit, and repeat steps 3 through 12.18. Once the name tile is showing in the SimpleConnect Wifi app, open the Alexa app on the same iPhone and search for the “Hunter Fan” Alexa skill. It should find the ” Hunter – SimpleConnect Smart Ceiling Fan” skill. Enable it by logging in with the same Hunter account that you verified in the hunter app.19. Now discover devices. Alexa should find two new smart home devices: the fan and the fan light.20. CONGRATULATIONS! You have finally successfully set up Alexa to control your fan and light.Other notes:On the SimpleConnect Wifi app, click on the name tile of your fan, and go to settings – the gear icon. From here, you have the option of turning on the light dimming feature, as well as turning off the audio feedback beep.You can reverse the direction of the fan in 3 different ways.1. You can toggle between the Summer and Winter modes under settings in the Hunter app.2. You can press the “Reverse” button immediately below the fan icon in the Hunter app (this is only verified for iOS, not sure if it’s the same for Android devices).3. You can press and hold the fan button on the Hunter remote control for a few seconds.

    I wrote a bad review before because I couldn’t get them to work with Alexa. After several communications that ultimately needed a phone call with a specialist, it is connected. Turns out the app tries to connect with the apple home app and I still had my old house set up in that app, so it wasn’t syncing. After deleting the old home, I was finally able to get it to sync with the hunter app and then to the Alexa app. The only negative thing I will say about the fans is that I wish they moved the air more, I don’t feel much of a breeze even on high. Actually, I feel it more on the medium than on high. Beyond that, they are nice looking fans and go nicely in a modern decor as easily as it does a more transitional decor.

    If you want to use with with Alexa/Android devices I would just steer clear altogether. After multiple failed attempts to get it to even connect to its own app, even after it does connect, its Alexa integration fails anytime there is a power outage, or just randomly once every few weeks. Once Alexa stops being able to control the fan I have to remove it from the SimplyConnect app and go through the setup process all over again while also rebuilding my Alexa routines. Adding to my problem is the fan isn’t connected to a light switch, so if I need to reset the fan for any reason I have to go all the way out to my electrical box to reset it. And God forbid you tap the sync button on the remote instead of holding it down, which immediately un-pairs the remote and can’t be used again until the power to the fan is flipped and the remote re-paired within a time limit, which let met tell you, is not long enough to walk casually back from my electrical box.Build quality of the fan is good and if you never have to use the smart features its a decent fan. Although a side effect of it being a 3 blade VS 5 blade fan is that when its on max power it sounds a bit like a helicopter off in the distance rather then clean white noise. I actually enjoy the sound it makes because it doesn’t bother me but its definitely not the typical 5 blade noise.

    Beautiful, contemporary design. Very quiet. Lamp is bright enough, and otherwise you can always replace two standard bulbs. Now the weird things. First of all I’m not using any wireless features, just wanted to replace a standard wall-controlled fan (separate light & fan switch). This will NOT work this way. Fan circuit has to be continuously powered and yes, you can use the other switch to control the light, but then – turning fan on & off only from the remote. Plus that loud beep when you switch the light… no thank you, too nerdy. Now what I did (probably voiding the warranty) re-wired internally so the light fixture is directly wired to a light wire in the ceiling (omit the controller) and left the fan wiring as is. Now remote only works with fan but I can control it from the wall like normal. Only using remote to change fan speed or direction.Overall, happy with the product.
