  1. WILLIAM H FULLER

The appearance and performance of both fan and light are excellent. Some reviewers have disliked the plastic composition of the fan blades and the circular light ring; however, I find the solid, thick acrylic durable and not at all objectionable. I have replaced ceiling light fixtures in both a hobby workroom and a guest bedroom with these fan/light combos. The lighting is far superior to that provided by the traditional light fixtures that these replaced, and the fan output is quite adequate for basic rooms, i.e., rooms measuring about 12′ by 12′. One thing I really like is that the unit uses a DC motor for the fan and LEDs to illuminate the light ring around the outer perimeter of the fan; obviously, the motor housing must contain a diode of some sort to convert household AC power to DC, which results in a nearly silent fan motor and a low current draw for both fan and lights. While I do not see an Energy Star approval on the fan, I expect it to be quite economical to operate. Now for the caveat. The instructions speak of brown and blue wires. That does not translate well to the fact that my unit was wired with one black and one white wire. Not a single brown or blue wire in sight. Now, the factory had attached a small adhesive label to each wire, “N” for Neutral and “L” for Live. I carefully attached the “L” wire to the household live wire and the “N” wire to the household neutral wire — and promptly tripped a circuit breaker. The factory-applied wire labels were reversed! After I ignored the instructions and reversed the wiring, the circuit breaker was perfectly happy and everything worked as expected (or hoped). The instructions also completely ignore the ground wire although one is included and is preconnected to the motor housing. I suppose the factory presupposes that everyone intuits what to do with it.Since I was installing these fans onto existing ceiling outlet boxes, I easily repurposed the wire nuts and the small threaded bolts that had secured the old light fixtures to those boxes. I did have to dig in my odds-and-ends tub to find a couple of metal washers to ensure that the little bolt heads could not pull through the generous slots in the fan’s mounting bracket. In brief, the fan is easily installed if (1) it is replacing a light fixture removed from an existing outlet box, (2) one has at least an elementary understanding of simple electrical wiring, (3) the house circuit breaker is working well if one initially wires the thing backward by following the erroneous labeling on the fan wires, and (4) if one has an assortment of small fixture mounting bolts and metal washers handy. Installing the first one was really sort of fun, and I swore only once when I realized that the fan wires were mislabled, sending me downstairs to reset the circuit breaker.By the way, the brief installation instructions include several assembly steps that I could ignore since the fan came out of the box with those parts already fully assembled. That was cool; just don’t get frustrated trying to follow assembly steps that have already been done for you! I also see a few reviewers unhappy because the light ring does not turn off completely. My unit does not have that problem, and its light brightens, dims, changes hue, and turns on and off just fine. In short, the unit does everything it is advertised to do, it does so in strict obedience to the remote control unit (which arrived with two fresh, fully charged batteries to be installed), and it looks very nice as a ceiling fixture in any small bedroom, hobby room, hallway, etc. It’s a bit too small for a formal living room, a great room, or a ball room, but it looks and works well just about anywhere else in the house.

  3. Jane Caples

Easy to put up 15 minutes.remote works very good on fan and light A+ thanks

  4. Nahivi

It is very bright with 6-spead fan and easy to install with existing fixtures. The remote feels like then plastic but does the job.

  5. Derik

Brightness was what we wanted. Most, if not all ceiling fans with light kits have very dim lighting since elimination of incandescent bulbs, but this fixture brightens our dining area perfectly. Plus it has a 6 speed fan that is remarkably efficient. This fixture was easy to install, the remote was easy to pair and all functions work perfectly. Highly recommend this product.

  6. Jim B

Easy to install, very bright light, its nice to be able to adjust the amount of brightness that suits you at the time, moves a good amount of air for its size, a nice addition to our den.

  7. snoflake

This light gives off a nice glow at night that I really like. IT was very easy to install as it the fan body itself gets attached easily after the initial bracket is installed. Remote works well and it put out good air but pretty much only underneath it but then the fan is not that high up on the ceiling. It also has a reverse function with is pretty nice. I would purchase it again if I needed a small space fan.

  8. Mitty

I like the styling of the light, but I don’t think it gives off enough cooling as a regular ceiling fan. If you are directly under it yes it is cool enough. It doesn’t circulate around the room.
