So this fan comes in quite a few parts, and if you follow the assembly instructions in the order presented they will have you assembling the fan part by part upside down as you work on a ladder. Save yourself the frustration and do what I did and assemble it on the ground.Points off for being a pain to install, but otherwise a really nice fan. I WOULD buy again, but next time I’d hire a handyman to install it.

Installed by electrician who said it was easy. Good quality fan with three levels of light. It brought a more Modern look to the room. Good choice!

Great product, sturdy, reliable, looks awesome.

The fan looks elegant but has significant design flaws. Foremost, the LED light is way too dim for the intended room size (for a 52-in ceiling fan). Its brightness at most befits a very tiny room. I installed it in my master bedroom to replace a similarly-sized 20-year-old Hunter fan. It’s a day and night difference in terms of brightness; only the “night” is the newly installed one. Secondly, the downdraft/updraft reverse switch is insanely hidden, situated inside the lamp canopy. To reach it, one needs to first remove the heavy glass globe canopy with a ladder. This is the most hard-to-reach reverse switch I have encountered in ceiling fans.

Great fan. Easy to install. Remote works well. Love the three stage lighting. Very quiet.

I got the Hunter Indoor Ceiling Fan with Tunable Whie LED Light and remote control – BN 52 inch, Brushed Nickel to replace an awful, cheap, builder-grade ceiling fan/light kit combo from 1999. Aesthetically, the black blades, brushed nickel finish, and LED light dome were chosen to update the room (all of the hardware had already been switched to brushed nickel). The fan arrived well packaged, with no damage to the fan or components. As far as the installation goes, the hanging mechanism is pretty good. The wiring is simpler than most fans, but that’s because the wireless receiver is better integrated than with many fans. That’s part of the problem, though, as the external receiver can be a little more retrofit friendly, as you can direct wire the light kit, instead of having it controlled by the receiver. It’s pretty common for fans to have two wall switches – one for the fan and one for the light kit. With the default installation, this would null one of the switches and would make the other one have to be on all the time. The remote is nicer than some, but it still isn’t what you’d call sleek. Oddly, the color temperature setting (which you will probably only set once) is on the remote, but the fan reverse switch is on a hard to access part of the fan (despite you needing to use it at least twice a year). The remote mount is better than the cheap holsters on the last generation of fan remotes. The fan assembly went quickly. The blades were balanced well enough. The fan operation moves a decent amount of air, doesn’t make much noise, and doesn’t have type of vibration that sometime makes a fan seem cheap. The fan is definitely a step up from what I had, but it’s not a “really nice” fan. If you are in the market for a “nice” fan, you should be happy with the Hunter 59451.

Our old ceiling fan from the ’80s was looking pretty dated. This brushed nickel Hunter fan looks so much better. It is like we updated our dining room even though we only upgraded the ceiling fan. There are two sides to the fan blades. One is a darker brown wood color and the other is black with wood grain. We chose the brown color because it matched our flooring and the rest of the room better than the black.Installation took about 2.5 hours. We had never installed a ceiling fan before and we had some issues. (someone with experience could do it much quicker)Our old fan had a flush mount option. The Hunter came with different length tubes but does not have the ability to be flush mounted. That is ok though, we used the shorter tube and it doesn’t hang down any more than the old fan.Once we were down installing we turned it on. Our old fan was not loud by any mean but this thing is really quiet. I mean super quiet. It must have a lot of fan speeds to choose from as well. Everything is controlled by remote control. You can pick from three light colors. One is a little more yellow, one is pretty close to white and the last is a little blue. I chose the middle or white color to match the light in our kitchen. (it is nice to be able to match the light color with another light this way)It came with a switch plate that can hold the remote control. We have a single light switch that turned on both the fan and the light. I supposed we could hardwire the unit and remove that switch if we wanted to. (then mount the remote control plate cover in its place) I’m going to leave the switch in there for now and possibly mount the remote control somewhere close by with 3M adhesive tape.I’m very happy that we upgraded. The old fan was fine but just looked out of date. We use it to move air in the dining room though and didn’t want to be without a ceiling fan. This was a perfect fit for our house and room.
