All in all, its a nice fan that looks good, moves air and is quiet. Unless it breaks, I wouldn’t send it back. It was definitely disappointing when the fan wouldn’t start after install, due to an old remote control battery that came in the box. That being said, the fact that this fan doesn’t have any way to control it without a remote control is mind boggling to me. After heading to Walgreens to pickup the special little 12v battery the remote required, it did start up, go through its self programming/calibration and run properly after that. Again, or simply blew my mind that there’s no control beside the remote. Dead battery, or lost remote and you’ve got just a fancy looking fan that does nothing but hang from the ceiling. I’m over 50 years old, so my standards are different and more focused on form follows function common sense – logical designs, more so than younger generations who have come to expect mediocrity in function, in lieu of shiny and new looks. So to repeat, and this is more for those with common sense, it might be an issue: WITHOUT A REMOTE (with a working specially battery), THIS FAN DOESN’T WORK. There’s no external on/off, potentiometer, digital control, etc. Nothing on the fan itself to operate it, in the event one loses the remote, or the battery is dead. This is perhaps the dumbest idea I’ve ever personally seen in a design of a household appliance. Beyond that hang up, the colors are not what is shown in the photos on Amazon. The metal part is brushed nickel, but the reversible blades are either light brown, or dark brown, (not the Cherry or Dark Gray/Ebony shown. If you’re trying to go for a more modern look with espresso, black, or dark gray this is not the fan for you. Again the colors are light brown or dark brown. As for the high pitched whines that others have mentioned in their reviews, I personally couldn’t hear anything and the sounds from our refrigerator are way louder than this fan, which is very, very quiet and smooth. Now my brand new Dell PC monitors they have a high pitched sound that is like a dentist drill into the brain after an hour or so of working. Don’t worry, this fan is not high pitched like a PC Monitor. As for size, its smaller than I envisioned, but still a little bigger than a regular size ceiling fan.As for moving air, it does a nice job of producing steady wide air movement. Even on high, it moves a lot of air without making things blow around. Don’t expect it to move air like those giant fans in the gyms however, the blade design is more for appearance than function. With better blades it would probably move a ton of air.All in all, not super thrilled. I’ve got a ceiling fan, and it works… As long as we don’t lose that remote 😉

The fan comes with an 8 inch extension rod. I followed the manufacturers recommendation and ordered a 12 inch rod, westinghouse #7752600. The issue is the fan’s materials are a dull/satin nickel finish while the recommend rod is a shiny/chrome finish. Doesn’t match.I thought the fan blades would be a dark grey color but it’s more of a dark brown. The only other issue I have is installing the fan blades. There are 3 screws per blade. The left and right screws are fine, the middle screw on each fan blade has a machining problem. It does not accept the screws in completely, I’ve tried a screwdriver, a flathead and an impact. All these of course have stripped the screw heads so I didn’t want to wrestle it anymore.Lastly, they recommend a max slope of 10 degrees. I did some math with an online calculator and it appears my roof is 12 degrees, which had no issues.

This is a fantastic fan. The DC motor is silent, and as stated in another review, this fan will ONLY work with remote control. This will be an issue for some, but a delight for others. This means that all you need at the ceiling is a 110 VAC power source. You do not need to rewire a switch!! Another really nice feature is that instructions are included on how to replace the receiver. This fan is replacing a Craftmade Epic 70 that had a receiver that failed. When contacted, Craftmade said the receiver was not user replaceable……probably will never order a Craftmade again. This was even $100+ cheaper than the Craftmade. Hello happy Dan Cave! I’d strongly recommend this, as long as a wired wall switch is not needed.

  4. LMM

It looks great, runs quietly, and puts out plenty of air movement on the lowest or second lowest speeds (OUT OF 6)! The only challenge of the installation is the size of the fan. I also wish that it had a wall control switch in addition to the remote but the remote works fine. It is very functional and is a focal point in our large great-room with a 12 foot ceiling height. (I used a 3 foot down rod.)

  5. Belle

I love the look. It’s contemporary. Also, for the size, it’s super quiet. All I hear is the air moving. Unfortunately, the reverse does not work. I don’t know if just mine came malfunctioning, or if others have the same issue.

Hard to balance. Especially once installed in a 16ft room.

  7. Jon

The blade mounts to the motor housing are a bit “off” (bent or misshaped). This forced a lot of balancing work on my part but it works very well. It is stylish and fits the space well. Best of all it wasn’t 1-3K and it keeps the room nice and cool. I have it in a two story living room with a 4′ extension rod.
