    Noisy Direct Drive motor. In a vaulted ceiling, this effect is magnified making it annoying in a quiet room. Had to return. Look for ceiling fans with DC motors if you want it more quiet. Minka-aire makes several DC motored fans that are very quiet and high quality, but they are more expensive.
