Installation is easy! Pop the light cover off, remove a pair of screws to access the wiring, disconnect the old light, then reverse that process to connect the new light, secure it to the fixture, and cover it up with your light’s cap.I’ve tried A LOT of light bulbs throughout my house over the years; incandescent, halogen, cfl, and now led. Each has its flaws; power consumption, heat, warm-up time, poor clarity, flickering, etc. I’ve become very picky regarding advertised vs actual color temperature (Kelvins), brightness (lumens), and clarity (CRI).Pros:- 5 color temp choices (best feature) … easily switch between color temps when mounted, just need to pop the light cover off of your fixture to access the 5-way switch. Each click of the switch offered a distinct change in color temp from about as warm as you’d want to as cool as you’d want…each stop seemed to produce an accurate color temp.- Easy install- Product feels sturdy & looks well-made- Mounting options … screws with 2 pair of slots … or just use the 4 magnets on the back of the light if your fixture has a metal plate (no screws needed. magnets hold very well)Cons:- I doubt that this 30W version is 3000 lumens. I connected it to a power source where I could switch between different lights for comparison. It seemed comparable to a 75W incandescent bulb which is about 1000 lumens. It’s bright enough for a vent fan light, but not as the primary light in a room.Just info, not a Pro or Con:- While I found no clarity value in the description, it seems to be around 85CRI compared to other lights whose CRI I know. That’s as good as you would want/need from a vent fan light. You’re going to have a primary light in your bathroom to see when applying make up, etc.

This dimmable retrofit light has 80 led’s with a magnified lens each. It comes with 2 wire nuts and 2 push button quick connectors. The light is pretty bright and it’s nice that it has 5 different color temperature settings but the switch is located on the light side and I find that to be a waste because if I ever want to change the color I would have to get a ladder, take off the cover, flip the switch and then put it all back together. That is something I do not want to do, it could’ve been easier with just a simple on and off of the power like my other lights are. So there is no easy way to scroll through the color temperatures. There are generic directions on the back of the box.

This 30W Dimmable Ceiling Fan Light Retrofit Kit 5CCT Adjustable, ETL Listed,3000K-6000K by DENGNBJ is a bright way to save money! The LEG lights save money, especially when replacing older, more costly light fixtures. My only complaint is that you must purchase your own dimmer switch. If you opt not to do so, you may set the temperature you want when you install it and keep it that way. That is what we chose to do. I like bright, white light, so I wanted the light to be the brightest available. It was easily installed, too. I do think the cost is bordering on expensive, so I deducted one star, half for the expense, and a half for having to purchase an additional dimmer switch. I still like the light fixture and I do recommend it!

In my older house, I have lots of 1970’s vintage fluorescent fixtures that take their own sweet time blinking to life after the switch is turned on. Recently I began converting from fluorescent bulbs to LED bulbs, and have been pleased with the quality of the light, and the fact that the light comes on as soon as the switch is thrown. I have a preference for light fixtures that allow the LED to be replaced without replacing the fixture, but with some of the larger fluorescent fixtures, this requires a bit of minor rewiring and removal of the ballast. This retrofit light kit is essentially the best of both worlds. All I had to do was remove the old light fixture cover and the old bulb (see photos), wire the retrofit light to the Hot and Neutral wires (black and white) using the existing wire nuts, and stick the retrofit light, with its built-in magnets, to the metal frame of the old fluorescent fixture, set the switch on the retrofit light to the desired light temperature, and replace the cover – Done in less than 5 minutes! On this project, I plan to order & install another 30 Watt retrofit light to balance the other half of the fixture, but for now, the light from one side is brighter than both the fluorescent bulbs were to begin with. In doing this review, I also educated myself with regards to safety ratings. This retrofit light is ETL listed, which for all practical purposes is the same as UL listed, so I trust that the design has been tested for safety.

This retrofit kit is too big for any of the ceiling fans or light fixtures in my house, except for one. The fixture over the kitchen sink had a single incandescent bulb. I added one of those outdoor motion detectors and changed the bulb to a big, heavy LED bulb. It worked, but I wanted to see if this collection of LEDs, this Retrofit Kit, would provide brighter light. It fit the space perfectly, and the magnets on the backside keep it attached to the inside of the metal fixture, so there was no need to use the attachment screws. The pictures show:The light behind the detail work, with the motion sensor. The original bulb lightThe new LED lightThe new light -ON-There is a switch that can be used to change the color temperature, but that wasn’t used. The light it puts out at the default setting is just fine. Also it’s dimmable, but that function also is not used in this application. This gets a rare FIVE STAR Overall rating. It’s easy to install, bright, plenty of features (tho not used), and OK value for money (I think it could be $5 cheaper…)
