   Sturdy and durable in the high setting kicks out a ton of air eliminating the need to keep the AC on. I’ve owned this exact same fan in another room since 2014 and it works perfectly every time. It also does not sway and move around even when it’s on the highest setting. Very minimal noise too. I am putting four more in the other bedrooms in the house

   Its as easy to install as any fan – they’re all a bit of a pain. I would note that the ceiling mounting system is not as easy as others such as Hampton Bay. With other fans you lift the assembled fan (without blades) and slide the ball at the top of the downrod onto the hangar you’ve mounted to the ceiling, then you hook up the wires. With Progress fans there is a hook on the mounting plate that you use to suspend the fan while connecting the wires, then you lift the fan into place where the decorative housing actually holds up the fan. This uses 2 screws that are already in place on the hangar with a “lift/turn” action. Then you screw in two more screws. These two screws are a bit more challenging as they are really close to the ceiling and depending on the how the hangar is mounted/formed the receiving threads can actually require you to angle the screw even closer to the ceiling to avoid cross threading – something I discovered had been done by the “professional” installers on 2 of the other 3 fans of the same model installed in our new house before we bought it. Check all the threads on the hangar plate before you mount it to make sure they are easily threaded and that the screws don’t angle “up”.

   3 stars due to customer service and difficulty of installation. I called customer service at Progress and they never called back. The instructions have you hang the top part of the fan from the ceiling plate hook and then install 3 other parts while the fan is hanging from the ceiling. It would have been much easier to assemble the whole thing and hang the finished assembly from the ceiling plate hook. That’s how I would do it the next time. Other than that, the fan does what it’s supposed to do.

   As a contractor, I have installed a few ceiling fans. I must say this fan was typical install although with all fasteners hidden, it does have a few extra pieces. I wanted a sleek fan for the master bedroom and but didn’t want a light and this really fit nicely and makes a nice finish.
