   The fan is really cool and has a great look but a vital flaw is there is no way to lock in a color temp. Each time you turn on the switch, you get a different color temperature.

   Looks great and doesn’t make much noise. The light part is annoying because of the loud clicking and having to click through the different light strengths. But now only a few months after finally having it installed and the light is out. And we use the light maybe 5 min max a day. Definitely not worth it if the light doesn’t work. Do not recommend

    Overall, I really like this retractable blade ceiling fan. See my video review for my detailed thoughts and a walk through of the main features. The LED light kit is very large and pretty bright, with the option to choose from 3 color temperatures that are easy to toggle through with the included remote control. I was a bit surprised that the light is not dimmable, which isn’t a big deal in my application but I could see that being an issue in some rooms such as bedrooms or media rooms where dimmable lights are needed.Although the light/fan as a whole is well made, it does have a couple of drawbacks. First, the mounting bracket looks like a lot of other ceiling fan mounting brackets that I’ve seen, but the screw holes are about 3/4″ wider than the screw holes on ceiling fan boxes used in the USA. The hardware it comes with contemplates mounting the bracket either directly to wood with wood screws or into a concrete ceiling. Those options might make sense in some countries, but in the United States the vast majority of residences use ceiling fan rated electrical boxes that you mount the ceiling fan bracket directly to. In a lot of construction those boxes are surrounded by non-load bearing drywall, so the only option is to mount directly to the electrical box. I’m very handy and have a lot of tools, so I was able to drill out an additional hole in the bracket to make it work, but less experienced DIYers may have a more serious issue installing this fan.The second issue I had is that the diffuser is just a cheap plastic sheet that snaps into the outer ring. It is ok and looks fine once mounted, but I was a little disappointed when I opened the box. I expected a fan like this to come with a more attractive and durable frosted glass diffuser.Even with those nitpicks, I’m glad I put in this light/fan. It’s overall a nice product that would have been perfect with a mounting bracket that matches typical USA ceiling fan boxes and a glass diffuser.

   Once I figured out which portions of the instructions were relevant, installation went pretty smoothly.It’s pretty heavy, so making sure you have a partner for installation would be helpful.Once the main bracket is solidly mounted to the ceiling, the rest of the install is a lot easier, and the ball-joint style of hanger is pretty smart.The retractable blades for the fan is a pretty brilliant idea, and is cool to watch when it starts to spin up.Moves a lot of air, even on low speed.Back to the instructions – I had everything wired up and then opened up the remote box to find a separate controller that is not clearly mentioned in the instructions until another page entirely. Fortunately, I hadn’t done anything permanent yet, so putting it in the right spot wasn’t terrible.

    Best. Ceiling fan. Ever. Much to my surprise, for I have a long and storied history of struggles with ceiling fans, this thing installed in about 30 minutes total. EASILY installed in 30 minutes I might add! No stress, no strain, no struggle, no strife! And LOOOOOOK at it!!! Isn’t that just effing awesome?!? It floops out when you turn it on, and puts itself away when you turn it off! And it has a competent light in it!Only thing I wish, as I wish of many things, is that instead of the remote control, which is a really cool feature btw (!), that I could operate it thru Lexie. Or maybe not “instead of”, but “also” ♥ I know, I’m being greedy and wanting everything and never being satisfied…but I’m a girl, it’s what I do 😉 I wanna have a perfect uncut cake and have a piece of it, all at once, and that’s on a good day! Even tho it won’t talk to Lexie, just the fact of having a remote controlled light and fan is rockin’ pretty hard! No stupid strings hanging down! I love this fixture!@ If it were a person, I’d invite it over for some drinks… If it were legally allowed, I’d marry it, and start calling myself “Joyous Mint-Retractable Remote Controlled Fan and Light! …bit of a mouthful that…but still tho!
