They are fairly small and don’t push much air. The blades are a little loud cutting through the air and if there is any breeze they wobble quite a bit, making them even louder and less efficient.

I love my new Aviator fan! The finish options really complement one another. I like that these fans are good for both indoor and outdoor use because I can install the same fans in my living room and porch. The wall control is included and really simple to install in a switch box. I installed the switch into a 2-gang electrical box and was able to re-use the same decora switch cover I already had. Installing the fan is very straightforward, but a word of caution, there isn’t much room in the fan housing so make sure you manage the wires properly (I used zip ties) otherwise it may seem like there isn’t enough room in the fan to install it. The smart controls are a great benefit too! I like that I can voice control the fans through my Echo. Also really cool that you can turn the fan on/off from anywhere – this comes in handy for me especially because I tend to forget to turn my fans off when I rush out of the house for work.

Contrary to some other reviews I had no issues with installation, getting the fan onto my wifi network and the iOS app seems to work flawlessly. The fan is beautiful to look at and totally silent. I gave it a 3 rather than a 5 because it didn’t come as advertised. The ad copy says it comes with a wall mount control which is what I would have preferred. Instead it came with a small blue tooth remote. Now I have to spend more money on a wall mount switch.

Update 2: Replacement fan also had a similarly bent housing (the light fixture still interferes with the turning blades), and also had a Wifi/Bluetooth signal range of less than 5 feet. The fan’s wifi receiver is fully enclosed inside a heavy duty steel housing that sits inside a larger 2nd steel enclosure. This effectively means the antenna is located inside 2 faraday cages. This is the dumbest “smart” product I’ve ever purchased.Update: In less than a week, the fan completely stopped functioning. It does not respond to button presses from the remote, and it has disconnected from the Wifi network. Based on the lack of support I received from Modern Forms, I am returning this fan as defective. The fan looks great, but I have encountered several problems with it.1) The entire motor housing/mount appears to be bent. The space between the bottom of the motor housing and the fan blades varies on each side. Also when installing the optional luminaire, the luminaire housing interferes with the fan blades! I had to add 3 washers to each of the screws between the luminaire and the mounting post on the fan. Either this fan motor was previously dropped and then sold to me as “new”, or the manufacturer has very poor quality control.2) After installation, the fan refused to connect to any Wifi network. During the setup process, the phone app would repeatedly state “Password Error: Please provide the password for” and ultimately freeze. After 3 days of intensive troubleshooting, I ultimately determined that the fan’s Wifi signal wasn’t strong enough to reach my Wifi access point from a distance of 15 feet. Once I moved the access point to within 3 feet of the fan, the errors stopped and the fan finally connected to the network smoothly.Similarly, I have found the range of the included Bluetooth LE remote to only be about 5 feet. If you move the remote more than 5 feet from the fan, it does not function. Not very useful!3) Modern Forms did not provide useful support for the connectivity issues above. When calling technical support, their staff appeared to have ZERO knowledge of the product or how to troubleshoot Wifi networks in general. They indicated they could not assist, and would need to follow up by email. They never did follow up.For being marketed as a “smart fan”, it would appear very little thought went into designing this product. The fan’s Wifi/bluetooth receiver is fully enclosed inside a VERY heavy-duty steel motor housing with no external antennas, and this appears to cause very poor RF reception for Wifi networks and the bluetooth remote. I would not consider this product if you live in a high-rise or urban environment where the 2.4 GHz channels are crowded and noisy… this fan will not receive signals from your Wifi access point or the bluetooth remote from more than a few feet away!

Finally put up my new fan and it looks awesome. Sprung for the light kit too. All in – took about an hour to take down the old Hunter and get the new one up. Pairing process did take a few attempts to find the signal (~10 minutes) and Alexa took 30 seconds to learn the commands. If you have an extra red wire like I did going from the wall switch to the fan location it’s not needed for this install. The company fan support line said their control operates light and speed through the same switch so I capped it in the ceiling and in the wall and next I’m off to buy a blank plate for the wall. Happy to consolidate the stupid wall switches!

We have this in a rental property and the remote keeps getting unpaired and we get guest complaints. Probably it is from it conflicting with the wall switch. It looks good, but it doesn’t really push much air.

Beautiful fan, but smart features suck. I would not suggest downloading and using the modern forms app. Not only is it a pain to pair, but once does, it consistently conflicts with the wall control switch. If you try to manually turn off/on or change speeds with the wall control, it will always revert back to the app settings. I tried just using only the smart app to control, but would show offline/not connected more often then not. Finally, just decided to removed the fan from the app and it works fine only using the wall switch, but sucks I don’t have the convenience of both options.
