    Replaced an old fluorescent light. Kind of a conversation piece because it looks like a UFO. But it is perfect for the kitchen with that fan. The old florescent light flickered constantly and it’s just such a treat to have a steady light and three speeds on that fan.

    It was a pain to get it mounted, but once that was done I am certainly happy with the purchase. It hugs the ceiling and has multiple options for both lights(4) and fan speed(3). As for looks, it is very stylish and makes the kitchen dining area where it is located look slightly futuristic. My wife loves it so that in itself is worth the price of admission.

    Oh, where to begin? We ordered this lamp because we needed something that didn’t hang down very far and the choices were limited. The photos posted for the product on Amazon hinted at a poorly made product, but we thought we would give it a try. POOR DECISION! This product is way overpriced at $169.99 and would be better priced after you take the first $100 off.Despite what appeared to be decent packaging, the first thing I noticed upon opening the package was the plastic box holding the printed circuit board had come open and the PCB was exposed. I also noticed the plastic (pretty much everything is cheap polystyrene) skirt around the fan was tilted. I turned the fan over and heard the sound of pieces sliding around inside the skirt. I was able to gently remove the dark gray plastic ring, which simply snaps into place, and remove the clear plastic skirt. Two of four large tabs had broken off, apparently in transport. I grabbed some super glue and reattached them and reinstalled the skirt. The rest of the installation was pretty straightforward despite instructions that are, to be blunt, nearly useless. If you have no experience installing light fixtures, that could be a problem.This fan is noisy. This is no surprise as it appears to be a repurposed oscillating fan. The motor, and protective basket that would normally be on the back side of the fan blade are still there, they just redesigned the front and made it mountable to a ceiling box. I can’t imagine anyone sleeping in a bedroom with this turned up past the first fan speed setting.The motor enclosure is pretty industrial and doesn’t really go with any kind of household decor, unless you are into a “Mars Attacks” decorating theme. While the motor enclosure is white, the screws provided to attach it to its bracket are unpainted and the slots to attach it are way bigger than they need to be.If I had to venture a guess, the company that made these had a leftover inventory of oscillating fans that they couldn’t unload and assigned an intern to try and make a silk purse out of a sows ear. I’m probably going to send this back and get something that is better designed and manufactured. If this thing lasts more than a month, I’ll be surprised.

    The fan itself is awesome. I was hard to install because the mount is so flush it’s hard to line up the screws with the mount hooks. You have to line up the screws with the grooves push up and twist. But it’s so flush you can’t push up to get the screws into the slots.

    After 6 months the fan stopped working with the remote but I am giving 4 stars because the company responded super fast (like a couple hours) and is sending me a new fan to replace this one…..I will update with 5 stars if and when the new fan arrives and is working.
