I like the fan. It was fairly easy to install, unfortunately I got a lemon. I was replacing an older Hampton Bay fan that had pull chain and dual wall switches already working and in-place. The instructions were were pretty easy to follow. Since I had smart dual wall switches, all the wiring was already ready to go. When I completed and turned on, the light switch died. I had another smart light switch and when I replaced it, it died. I bought a regular light switch (Leviton), and when I installed it the breaker would pop. I called Hunter and they said that I needed a Hunter fan/light switch and that Lutron and Leviton was not supported (woah, really?). I went ahead an purchased a Hunter fan/light switch $29) and installed it, turned on the light, it popped (shorted). Amazon sent a replacement for the fan or I could have waited 5-7 for Hunter to replace. I replaced everything with the new one sent, and used a regular light switch and it worked. So, unfortunately, it was just a bad fan that cost me a lot of time, 2 smart switches, and 1 Hunter fan/light switch.

It was a toss-up between the Timpani and the Delsey. I got the Timpani because it was going in the living room/dining area and my style is modern. My handyman installed it. It took less than an hour. I am very happy with my choice. Shopping wasn’t easy. I looked at many ceiling fans online and in-store. The one I really wanted, due to its design (not a Hunter), required a 10′ ceiling fan; mine was 8′. I settled on Hunter because of their reputation for quiet ceiling fans and good design. The Timpani is sleek, it operates quietly, the air flow is just right and the light fixture is larger than what I had before. The pull chains worked as expected. I’m very happy. I did not get the remote because I did not want another remote.

Installation went nice and easy and the fan looks nice on the ceiling. It has a hook built into the mount so that you can hang the fan while connecting the wiring. My issue with the fan is the two pull chains. They have a cheap plastic guide tab and every time the chains are pulled, it feels very wonky and cheap. When pulling the chain down, the light fixture also flexes down with it. I looked at my other 5 or so Hunter ceiling fans and they all have metal guide tabs and the chain pulls are very smooth. I use the pull chains a lot in the summer and this just feels very cheap. Not worth $180Also, the “feature” of having the SureSpeed ultra powerful airflow is a CON for me. It is too powerful and creates a helicopter/whirlwind noise. I will never use the High speed, so I am only left with Medium and Low now. If I had the choice again, I would not have purchased this model.

Well packaged. All parts and hardware was included. Three mounting screws we’re very difficult to install in the crowded junction box.

I have put up a lot of ceiling fans in my 60 + years and his is by far the worst. make sure you put the fan together before attaching to the ceiling. I always buy hunter because they are quite, not this one. I would return it but it was hard to put up. I will just leave the fan on the low speed for the lack of noise.

We’ve been in our house for 11 years, and have replaced nearly every light fixture and fan at this point. The last remnant was the fan in the master bedroom. Y’all, this thing was strange. It looked like a Victorian spaceship, with cheap veneered paddles. I have never seen a fan like it before or since. It was so heavy that they had to add a big wooden board at the base, and it rocked like crazy if you turned the fan above low. I was ready for it to go.This fan is magnificent – like night and day to the spaceship. It is crisp and clean and modern without being too crazy and industrial. Our house is a simple mid-60’s ranch, so we don’t want anything too obnoxious. Additionally, our ceilings are on the low side, we we needed something that could hug the ceiling. This fits our needs perfectly. My husband was able to install it fairly easily. The only issue he had was wires that are too short in my house. He cusses about that every time he does something like this. He also made it “smart” by using some kind of Alexa-enabled switch. While he worked that out, we did use the remote, and it works fine. It’s a rather odd remote, with different kinds of symbols, but it gets the job done. The fan? Wow. It can move some air, and it’s not loud at all! We’re very happy!

The most important thing I can say about this fan is “Hunter,” a name that has been synonymous with quality fans for decades. If it’s a Hunter, there are certain things you can assume about it that I found to be good and true assumptions. It is well designed and well made. The installations instructions were easy to follow, although we did not need them. And it worked beautifully from the first click of the switch. It is a 52-inch fan so the sweep is wide. It sits close to the ceiling despite being a light and fan combination. The style description mentions modern, but it is so clean and unornamented that it fits with any décor. We put it in our 100-year-old kitchen and it lights up the area over the work table in the center, and cools off and clears the air of smoke and concentrated cooking odors beautifully. Until I turned the fan on, I wondered what made it especially good for hanging in a child’s room or nursery, as stated in the description. But then it dawned on me: this fan is whisper quiet. I’ve had ones that hum, and ones that rattle, and ones that click, from the day we put them in. This fan is almost silent, other than the whisper of displaced air.Very much worth the price. It’s a Hunter.

The directions were relatively straightforward & easy to follow. On high it moves a lot of air, but has a bit of a hum that may be annoying over time. Medium speed seems to be about 1/3 the power of high speed. Low is not much lower than medium speed, but gently moves the air to keep it circulating. I do wish it had a remote, but the pull strings will suffice. All in all, it’s a pretty nice fan.It comes with 2 replaceable LED bulbs
