A friend with a successful electrical business told me he’s had frequent issues with WAC Lighting products. I wish I had talked to him before I bought this fan. I spent an entire picture-perfect Saturday trying to get it to work. The light would turn on, and the receiver would beep when accepting signals, but the blades wouldn’t turn.WAC’s support line is closed on Saturdays, so I couldn’t reach them until Monday. A nice gentleman on the line walked me through troubleshooting steps (all of which I had completed on Saturday), and he determined the receiver was defective. My options were to wait for a receiver replacement (and pray that was the problem) or return the fan to Amazon for a refund. I opted for the latter and ordered a MinkaAire fan, a brand my electrician friend highly recommended. Sure enough, it worked perfectly right out of the box.I chose WAC because I was intrigued with their smart fan technology, but smart doesn’t mean much if the blades won’t spin. My new MinkaAire Skyhawk with beautiful, carved wood blades is made smart with the Bond Home hub and Alexa integration. The same hub also controls any fan or fireplace with remote control. I appreciate WAC’s effort to make things right, but my experience leads me to give them a thumbs down.

I purchased this fan because I read that it had a 2100 lumen light kit. That’s more than what I’ve seen from other fans so I decided to give it a shot. It does produce a lot of light and good airflow too. At first I thought the remote was too small, but it’s not that bad. I also decided to purchase a wall control – wish it came included instead of a remote.

This ceiling fan looks beautiful but is poor quality. I had it installed by professionals. They were never able to get the fan to work. The light will come on after about a 10 second delay but the fan has never. So I’m stuck with replacing a ceiling fan.
