We replaced an older fan with this one. It looks great and really moves air. I love the forward and reverse feature from the remote as well as the 6 speeds. Very quite fan. I purchased the 6 foot downrod for this fan because we have a 24 foot vaulted ceiling.

I haven’t had this fan installed long but my first impressions are that it is a really solid outdoor fan and worth the money. Its very quiet, was perfectly balanced out of the box and it moves a lot of air on its highest setting. Plenty for my 10′ x 17′ patio area. The only part I don’t like is how everything is controlled from the remote. The fan only has black (hot), white (neutral) and green (ground) wires, nothing switched. Where I was installing it, my house has black, white, ground and red (switched). If you follow the fan’s instructions and match colors, then the red wire isn’t used and the wall switch does not do anything. You have to use the remote to turn the fan on or off. However, I found that if I wire the fan’s white and ground to the home’s white and ground respectively but wire the fan’s black wire to my house’s red wire instead of my house’s black wire (and cap my house’s black wire), then the fan will come on and off with the wall switch and most importantly, the fan will remember the setting it was previously on. Since I live in Florida, I expect to have it on high almost all the time when I’m using it, so now the wall switch will work for me on its own 99% of the time and I won’t have to bother with the remote. This wiring may be pretty basic knowledge for a lot of people out there, but it wasn’t intuitive to me so I figured I would put it out there in case it helps someone else. Now that I have it wired the way I like it, I think it will be a great outdoor fan.

The fan is mounted on our pool deck. Styling is simple and attractive. Very quiet even at high speed. Effective movement of air.

We had this fan installed by a professional electrician. We had bought both 12 and 18” Downrods. The electrician had used the 18” at first and it did swing on the highest speed, but on switching it over to the 12” down rod it’s perfect. It’s quiet and pushes a lot of air through an open concept kitchen/living room area. The electrician asked where we found it and said they have installed a number of Minka fans that people really enjoy, that they are great fans. This one is no exception, we’re very happy with it. The remote is great for changing speeds since it’s high up. We do have it wired to a switch for on/off. So grateful to have it in this years summer heat, we can leave the AC temp higher and yet be nice and cool.

I had been looking at fans for my finished garage, which also houses a therapy pool. The humidity can get pretty high, so I needed a quality outdoor rated unit. I was budgeting $300, but I heard such good things about this fan that I decided to up the budget to get it. I’m so glad I did. It’s a beautiful looking fan, the install was spot on and pretty simple. Took me about 45-60 mins. I branched off my garage opener outlet for power and the remote worked perfectly. I didn’t have to mess around with any balancing, it is whisper quite, it barely using any power and it really moves some air. You really get what you pay for.

I want to start with customer service but will focus on the fan first. Absolutely stunning and perfect for this damp climate. We have the setting on 4 because I think if it went any higher it would blow us away. Super easy install, I did it myself with a little help (lifting it up) from my hubby. I’m a ceiling fan snob and know quality when I see it. No need to look further, this is the one!On to customer service. I am now a lifetime customer and will purchase any fan in the future from Lighting & Locks. UPS said they delivered the fan on Thursday and we’re still looking for the package. Lol I contacted Lighting & Locks and received an immediate response stating they would ship a new one immediately. I received it the next day (Friday). We also received a small surprise gc from Lighting & Locks. Now I’m going to go see what else they sell 🙂

Updated Review: Upgrading back to five stars. After I ran the fan for a few weeks the problem with the noisy bearing went away. No issues now. Looks good and works very well.Updated Review:Downgrading from five stars to one star. The bearings annoyingly rattle at most speeds. If you run it very slowly on levels 1-2, the bearings don’t rattle. If you run it on levels 3-6, the bearings rattle every 20 seconds. Very disappointed with this fan. I will try letting it run for a few weeks to see if the rattle goes away.Original Review:I had an electrician install this fan, but first I pulled it out of the box to make sure everything was there. No missing pieces or hardware. I installed the blades just to make the job easier. Installation took the electrician about a half hour and he charged $150. The fan works great. We love the way it looks and it’s very quiet. The remote works well and is simple to operate. We have no complaints so far, but I will update this review should I run into any issues. The electrician also advised me to save the box for six months just in case there were any major problems. We will do that.

Pictured with added light-kit. We had 100mph winds during Hurricane Ian and the fan held up perfectly under the high wind sheer. The blades are made of a plastic and are light – I was expecting a heavier blade but it held up just fine. I would buy this again. The light shines bright if you go for the added light kit.
